🐷 Flora's Farmyard Gazette
Hey there, my fabulous human friends!
Flora here, your resident porcine philosopher and Chief Relaxation Officer at Tomah Retreat. Let me tell you, I've been practicing my best poses for all you visitors - you know, the "belly rubs, pretty please" roll and my signature "I'm too cute to resist" snout wiggle. And speaking of irresistible, have I got some juicy news for you! My human friends are offering a whopping 35% off stays starting TONIGHT! That's right, even better than finding a premium mud patch on a sunny day.
And oh my goodness, you should see the rhododendrons getting ready to pop - it's like nature's version of my breakfast excitement! The weather is absolutely spectacular, perfect for wandering through our living labyrinth (where I occasionally serve as an unofficial tour guide), or relaxing in the treehouse (which I admire from below, as pig aviation hasn't quite taken off yet). For all you writer types, we've got these amazing new summer writing retreats coming up. Though between you and me, I've been working on my own memoir: "Oinks and Insights: A Pig's Guide to Living Your Best Life."
Come visit soon - I promise to share all my secret spots for the best mountain views and premium scratches! 🌸🐽✨

Oink and Ink: Flora's Farmyard Gazette
Greetings, my dear two-legged friends! It's your favorite porcine personality, Flora, here to give you the latest scoop from Tomah Retreat. Spring has sprung, and let me tell you, it's like Mother Nature decided to throw a confetti party all over our little slice of paradise. The cherry blossoms are popping, the azaleas are blazing, and the camellias and rhododendrons are showing off like they're on a floral catwalk. It's so beautiful, I'm considering trading in my mud baths for petal baths!
I've got some exciting news that'll make your curly tails spin. Tomah Retreat is now offering Writers Retreats! That's right, you wordsmiths can come and pen your masterpieces in our cozy studios: Breathe, Relax, and Chill. I hear Chill even has a clawfoot bath – though I prefer a good wallow in the mud myself. You'll get to enjoy private writing spaces, delicious veggie meals, and evening chats around the fire pit. Just remember, if you see a pig nosing around your manuscripts, that's probably just me looking for some late-night reading material.
But wait, there's more! (I've been watching too many human commercials.) These retreats aren't just about writing – they're about experiencing the full Tomah package. You can take a stroll through our living labyrinth (I'm banned after getting lost for three days), relax in the garden sauna (again, banned, just don't ask), or make friends with my fellow farm residents. Just be warned: Bowie the Maremma might try to herd you, and the mini-horses have some pretty big egos for such little guys.
So come on down to Tomah Retreat this spring – where the flowers are blooming, the creativity is flowing, and this little piggy is always ready for a chat.
Oink oink!

Snouts and Snuggles: A Pig's-Eye View of Tomah Retreat
Oink-oink, friends! It's Flora here, the resident piggy at Tomah Retreat. At 14 years young, I may not move as quickly as I used to, and my eyesight isn't what it once was, but let me tell you, life here is still as sweet as a fresh patch of grass. These days, I prefer to take it slow, savoring every moment with my mini-horse buddies and soaking up all the belly rubs I can get from our lovely guests. There's nothing quite like feeling the warmth of a gentle hand on my back or the tickle of cool grass under my trotters to remind me how good life can be.
Speaking of good life, you humans have it made here at Tomah Retreat! I may not see too well, but even I can tell how cozy those studios are. There's Breathe, where I hear guests gasping at the mountain views (must be pretty impressive!). Then there's Relax, which has a garden view that rivals my own personal salad bar. And let's not forget Chill, with its fancy clawfoot bath - sounds like a mud wallow fit for a queen pig if you ask me! Each one has a fireplace too, which sounds just divine for those chilly nights when even my bristles can't keep me warm. So why not trot on over and join us? I promise, between the comfort of the studios and the joy of animal companionship, you'll be squealing with delight just like me!
Snuffles,

Winter Wonders at Tomah Retreat: A Cozy Tale by Flora the Pig
Hello dear friends, it’s Flora the Pig here, Oink Oink!, writing to you from the heart of our mist-shrouded sanctuary, Tomah Retreat. As the cooler months roll in, I’m thrilled to share the unique gifts of winter that make our little haven a magical place for our guests.
Firstly, each of our studios is warmed by a charming fireplace, where the crackling of logs and the gentle warmth invite you to relax and unwind. Imagine yourselves curled up by the fire, perhaps with a good book and a warm drink, letting the peacefulness of the place soak into your bones.
For those who wish to warm up in a different style, our infrared sauna in the garden offers a blissful escape. As the mist settles in the evenings, there’s nothing quite like stepping into the soothing warmth of the sauna, letting it envelop you as the cool air brushes against the windows.
The landscape here at Tomah Retreat transforms during winter. The fallen leaves carpet the earth, and the air is crisp and cool. In the evenings, our pretty fairy lights twinkle and shimmer through the mist, casting a spell of enchantment all around. It’s truly a sight to behold, and one that I, despite my limited height, never tire of admiring.
For those feeling adventurous, a misty stroll through our neighbors, the Botanic Gardens, offers a mystic experience. The gardens are a quiet marvel during winter, with the fog enhancing the natural beauty and serenity of the surroundings.
And why do I, Flora, love this weather? Well, residing at the top of Mount Tomah means we often find ourselves sitting in or even above the clouds—a surreal and peaceful experience. It’s like living in a dream, high above the world.
So, if you’re looking to cuddle up, warm up, or simply soak up the serene beauty of winter in the mountains, consider this your personal invitation from me, Flora, to join us at Tomah Retreat. Embrace the gifts of winter with us—where every moment is a memory waiting to happen.

A Snoutful of Secrets: Walnut Wonders and Chestnut Charms at Tomah Retreat
Hey there, humans! Flora the pig here, coming to you from the heart of the Blue Mountains at the enchanting Tomah Retreat. I've taken a brief pause from my busy schedule of rooting around and enjoying the lush greenery to share a little secret with you. Well, it's not just any secret—it's about the season we're trotting into, and trust me, it's a tasty one!
First off, let me squeal about walnut season. It's that magical time of the year again when those crunchy delights start falling from the sky. Okay, maybe not the sky, but it sure feels like it when you see the ground littered with these treasures. Now, I must confess, I've been known to partake in a walnut feast (or two...or three), but worry not! There's plenty to go around. If you're quick, you can gather some of these natural treats for yourself. Just imagine, fresh walnuts right off the ground, ready to be enjoyed in the cozy comfort of your very own studio with a fireplace.
Not far behind walnut season, chestnut season is peeking around the corner. Ever picked a chestnut? Oh, it's an adventure, let me tell you. Their casings are a bit spikey, so you've got to be careful, but the reward is oh-so worth it. Roasted chestnuts on an open fire (safely in your studio fireplace, of course) are something you just have to experience. The aroma alone is enough to make you feel like you're in a storybook.
And speaking of storybooks, have I mentioned the mornings here? Misty, magical, and utterly mesmerizing. They're the perfect start to a day of exploration, walnut and chestnut foraging, or simply relaxing. And as the day winds down, the cool air invites you to snuggle up in front of the fireplace. Whether you're staying in "Chill" with its luxurious bath, "Breathe" with its serene bay window overlooking the mountains, or "Relax" with its enchanting garden view (and the occasional chicken parade), the evenings are simply perfect here.
So, here's my call to you, dear two-legged friends: come and stay with us at Tomah Retreat. Whether you're here for the walnuts, the chestnuts, or just to enjoy the beauty of the Blue Mountains, I promise you an unforgettable experience. And who knows, maybe you'll even catch me and the other friendly animals—mini horses, chickens, dogs, and cats—on one of our daily adventures.
Walnut and chestnut season waits for no one, and I'd hate for you to miss out. So pack your bags, and don't forget to bring a good nutcracker and some sturdy gloves for the chestnuts. I'll be here, eagerly waiting to welcome you to our slice of paradise. And remember, if you find me with a walnut or two, there's plenty more where that came from!
Until we meet,
Flora 🐷
March 2024
Hello, dear humans! It's me, Flora – not just any pig, but your future best friend and the unofficial but totally necessary welcoming committee of Tomah Retreat, nestled in the heart of the breathtaking Blue Mountains, NSW.
March is upon us, and oh, how the tables have turned in our little slice of paradise. The air is getting crisper, the mist rolls in like a dreamy blanket in the evenings, and the world here is painted in the most vibrant shades of green you could imagine. It's like stepping into a fairy tale, but with me as your guide, it becomes a funny tale of adventure and snorts!
The chickens are in a frenzy, and can you blame them? The worms are throwing a party, and everyone's invited – well, every chicken that is. And me, of course, I never miss a party. But between you and me, I'm more interested in the veggie crop. Ah, the last of it is just divine! I've been munching on the remnants of our lush garden, savouring every delicious moment before the season changes.
Now, I have a very special invitation for you. How would you like to receive a piggy kiss from yours truly? Yes, it's a once-in-a-lifetime offer! Visit us in March, and not only will you get to enjoy the cooler weather, the enchanting mist, and the lush greenery, but you'll also have the honor of a piggy kiss. I'm practicing my pucker just for you!
Imagine cozying up by the fireplace in one of our beautiful studios – "Chill," "Breathe," or "Relax" – each with its own charm and surrounded by nature's beauty. And the animals! Oh, you'll meet them all: the mini horses with their naughty looks, the dogs and cats who've mastered the art of lounging, and the chickens, of course, who might just share a worm or two with you if you're lucky.
So, what do you say? Are you ready for an adventure? Are you prepared to be charmed by not just me, but all of Tomah Retreat's delightful inhabitants and the magical atmosphere of the Blue Mountains?
I promise, it'll be a visit filled with laughter, warmth, and maybe a little bit of mischief. After all, what's a visit without a bit of fun?
Looking forward to smooching you (with consent, of course),
Flora the Pig 🐷
February 2024
Hello there, Flora's fans!
Flora here, and I'm oinking my way into the world of blogging – can you believe it? Well, folks, I turn a grand 15 on February 4th, and what better way to celebrate than to share my piggy tales with all of you!
Did I tell you it's apple picking season up here? No? It is! Wheeeeee. Lovely, crunchy, green, red, apples. Have you ever had a fresh apple before? It's like nothing on earth. Come up and try them (I'll tell you my favourite spots!)
Now, you might be wondering, "Why on earth would a pig want to start a blog?" Let me tell you, dear readers, being a pig in the Blue Mountains next to the Botanical Gardens on Mount Tomah is no small feat. It's a life of mud baths, walnut feasts, and the occasional chestnut frenzy – truly, a pig's paradise!
Firstly, let me tell you about the fantastic perks of living here. The weather – oh, it's just right. Not too hot, not too cold – just perfect for a piggy like me. Lots of beautiful mist in the mornings, I can barely find the labyrinth! And let's not forget my very own mud bath in the garden. It's like having a spa day every day! If you're into relaxation, you've got to try it.
Speaking of the garden, it's a pig's dream come true. I get to greet all the new guests with a friendly wag of my tail and regale them with tales of my adventures. I've got a prime spot to observe the beauty of the mountains from my house, and let me tell you, it's a sight to behold.
Now, about those walnuts – oh, they're like little pieces of heaven. Walnut season is my absolute favorite time of the year. I'll happily trade my mud bath for a walnut feast any day. And chestnuts? Don't even get me started! I go absolutely mad for them. Crunchy, delicious chestnuts – a pig's guilty pleasure. They'll all be here in 1, 2 , 3 (excuse me, while I count on my trotters) months. 'April', my mum tells me. Oooh, I can't wait. And guess what? The neighbours sell them too.
You see, my mission with this blog is to spread the word about the wonders of the Blue Mountains and, of course, Tomah Retreat. It's not just a place; it's an experience. The lush green acres, the friendly mini horses, the clucking chickens – it's a piggy paradise, and I want to share it with the world.
Now, I must confess, my fellow swine enthusiasts, that sleeping is a top priority for me. In my advanced age of 15, I've earned the right to enjoy some beauty sleep. But fear not, I'll make sure to wake up for the important stuff – like greeting guests and, of course, enjoying some cake on my birthday.
So, if you're looking for a unique retreat surrounded by nature's wonders, consider coming to Tomah Retreat. Who knows, you might catch me in the garden, ready to share a tale or two – and maybe even a piece of birthday cake. Just remember, though, they say something about pigs and sharing. Wink, wink.
Until next time, keep it piggylicious!
Snorts and oinks,
Flora 🐷
